Greetings from all of us at
TIMA headquarters!
I'd
like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year
and share with you some of our goals for 2008 and the
future. First and foremost we would like to renew our commitment
to our members (our main focus) "YOU". TIMA
was started in 1952 by Dr. Joe Price as an organization
to help the artists in their efforts to promote and
further their music careers. Dr. Price served for many
years doing just that. He has helped me in many ways for
many years and I owe him a debt of gratitude that I
could never repay. Upon his retirement Dr. price asked
me if I would continue the work he started. I'm honored
that he has that much confidence in me. I promise to do
my best with help from God and my friends in TIMA.
TIMA
is entering a new era in the music business. The whole
music arena has changed with the computer age.
Everything is digital and cyber space now. Radio
promotion is different than it used to be. No longer is
it financially feasible to send out artists albums and
self promotions. Postage has gone up and the "Mom
and Pop" radio stations are almost a thing of the
past. Demands for higher quality in recordings makes it
even more difficult for the artist to present their
music to the public.
As
a member of TIMA you now have solutions to these and
other issues. We are expanding our services to all
genres of music and targeting your product accordingly.
We now have over 1,000 radio stations on our mailing
list and acquiring more everyday. Our goal is to service
every music outlet and station on the globe. It's a tall
order I know but very possible. Our plans for the future
include not only radio promotion but concerts, member
magazines, networking opportunities, publishing, video
promotion and advertising. The sky is the limit and only
bound by our dreams and determination. We have a
convention and an awards show every year and plan
several other events such as festivals, seminars,
concerts, bookings, career development and venues for
new aspiring singers and musicians.
I
have dedicated all of my resources and efforts to ensure
the success of TIMA and I welcome any and all
suggestions to maintain an open door policy to our
members. I have been manufacturing radio compilations
for TIMA for a number of years now through my record
company, YES RECORDS. I've also supplied CD's and videos
to many artists and some TV networks. These services are
now available to our members at a significant discount
as well as all the services TIMA offers. We also have
recording facilities available for new projects.
TIMA
welcomes and encourages anyone and everyone in the music
business to participate: singers, songwriters,
promoters, opry's, churches, record companies and fans.
All members also have voting and nomination rights for
awards shows. TIMA is dedicated to good clean
entertainment and expects all members to conduct
themselves in an inoffensive and appropriate manner. Our
membership includes many styles of music from country to
hip hop, gospel to Latin. Our award shows include all
genres as well. I believe our members will always
display good judgment in dress and conduct at these
events. We encourage children to participate as they are
our future artists and we want to be a good example.
Until
next month... I will close for now and invite any
comments, suggestions or criticisms.
