Greetings from all of us at
TIMA headquarters!
Wow!
Another month has flown by and I'm behind as usual.
There is so much to report that I don't know where to
begin. First of all, the membership drive has been such
a success and loads of new members are joining every
day. We're going to have our first meeting this month on
March 29th at Crystal's Pizza Palace in Irving, TX at
7:00 PM Saturday evening. Come early and enjoy some
great pizza and fellowship. Invite your friends and
bring your kids as well. There's a movie room and lots
of games to keep them occupied and entertained. We may
have some music and entertainment for the adults also.
This meeting will be informal as we are going to share
some of the new benefits that TIMA will be offering to
its members. It will give us all a chance to get acquainted
with new friends and see our old friends as well.
We've
been getting a little feedback on the gospel radio
compilation we produced in partnership with Dobbie
Poynor and his record label New Ground Music Group. He
will be putting together a bluegrass compilation shortly
that will be sent to 800 bluegrass stations exclusively
and we will be doing the duplication and packaging on
this project. A country album is also being produced
soon so we're looking forward to working on that. There
will be some of our new members as well some of our long
time members on it. If you would like to be on either of
these compilations, or both, feel free to let me know.
This
year at our convention and awards show we will be giving
away to one lucky member a top of the line Light Crust
Doughboys signature guitar. It's a beautiful precision
made instrument and it will be autographed by all of the
members of the band if you wish. Also, please be on the
lookout for a large enough auditorium to hold our
convention and awards show this year. If you know of a
nice place let me know and I'd be happy to check it out.
We
are adding new radio stations to our list every day, but
if you have a favorite one send me the address and I'll
add it to our list. We are currently working on a new
project for one of our new members, Anthony Perry from
Crandal, TX. This man is a wonderful singer and we are
proud to have him as a new member of TIMA. As soon as
the weather permits we will be going to our property in
Marrietta, TX to build an outdoor stage for our upcoming
festivals this summer. One of the things we will be
discussing at the meeting will be not only the road show
we are planning but also cruises and bus tours to
Branson, Missouri and Tennessee. We will be giving some
of them away as well.
We
all at TIMA are trying to build an organization that you
can be proud to belong to. The main focus is YOUR music.
That's the bottom line. We want you to be a success and
we're doing everything in our power to make that happen.
I've been traveling up and down these roads for forty
plus years and at my age it's getting more difficult to
do that, but I enjoy helping others to do what I have
loved for all these years. I just can't imagine a world
without music. Wouldn't it be a dull and dreary place?
But thank God we don't have that problem.
I
hope to see you at the meeting so we can get more acquainted
and make some really great things happen in the music
industry. If you would ever like to discuss the music
business or what we have going on here please feel
free
to call or write. Until we meet again, keep on singing
and telling everyone about TIMA!
